AP Congress to stress upon Polavaram Dam Hyderabad, March 6 (INN): Leader of the Opposition in AP Legislative Council C Ramchandraiah on Friday announced that the Congress party would stress upon the early completion of Polavaram Dam during the forthcoming budget session starting from Saturday.
Speaking to media persons here, Ramchandraiah said that the Congress MLCs would raise the issue of pending irrigation projects of Rayalaseema region, implementation of Bachawat Award, crop loan waiver and payment of compensation for farmers who lost crops due to heavy rains. He said that the Congress would strongly oppose the forcible acquisition of land for AP's new capital.
Ramchandraiah said that the Congress would also raise the issue of handing over of AP's capital formation to a Singapore firm. He alleged that the TDP leaders have received huge kickbacks by assigning the project to Singapore's company.
