Japanese delegation visits Sri City Sri City, March 6 (INN): A 50-member Government-Industry delegation from Japan visited Sri City on Friday.
The delegation, which was headed by Akio Isomata, Minister of Economic Development, included top government officials and senior executives of prominent organisations and companies, such as Fuji Electric Corporation, Hitachi, Hitachi Zosen Corporation, ITOCHU Corporation, Japan Research Institute, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), JGC Corporation, JICA, Kajima Corporation, Marubeni, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Nikken Sekkei, Shimizu Corporation, Sumitomo Corporation, The Bank of Tokyo, Toshiba, Toyota, besides others. The intent of their visit was to witness the existing infrastructure at Sri City, assess the business potential and explore the possibility of setting up industries there.
Welcoming the delegation, Sri City Managing Director Ravindra Sannareddy said that delegation's visit was a follow up to the recent visit of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to Japan. "We are delighted to host this large delegation of Japanese companies. This will encourage more Japanese companies to come to Sri City. I believe that Andhra Pradesh and Japan have synergies that can translate into mutually rewarding business associations,' he added.
Ravindra Sannareddy gave a brief presentation on the infrastructure, unique features and the status of Sri City.
Verra Bramham, Revenue Divisional Officer, Satyavedu was also present in the briefing session, representing the state government.
Akio Isomata thanked Sri City for extending nice hospitality with delicious Japanese food at Sri City. Ken Sasaji, Executive Director, Southwest Asia Office, Trade Policy Bureau expressed satisfaction on the available infrastructure and the location advantage of Sri City.
Following the interactive briefing session, the delegation visited some of the units and witnessed the blooming business environment at Sri City.
