On being part of the launch list, Chief Minister thanked Twitter and lauded their efforts in taking leaders a step closer to their followers.
'As a proponent of technology and an active Twitterati, I think the #TwitterSamvad service gives us an opportunity to reach our people in a more personal way,' the Chief Minister said.
He added that '#Samvad is a great cross-medium service that will bridge the digital divide & revolutionize how leaders talk to people.'
The number assigned to Chief Minister's @ncbn's twitter handle is 01130495767. To activate this service, followers can give a missed call to 01130495767 to activate the free service.
This service allows leaders to send up to 3 tweets a day and 45 tweets a month. Further, the service also 'gives the opportunity to send an urgent message by adding the #Alert hashtag in the tweet. These tweets will go as SMS immediately.'
