CS discusses production of Bio-Fertilizer
Hyderabad, March 31 (INN): Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao held a meeting with the officials of Agriculture, Marketing, Horticulture Departments and Acharya N.G. Ranga University to discuss on the production of Bio-Fertilizer and Vermi compost.
Under the scheme of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) six (6) units with a total production capacity of about 1000 tonnes established and they have already become operational and Vermi compost plants established by the Marketing Department are also operational in 26 places.
The Agriculture Department will distribute the Bio Fertilizers to the Farmers through their Mandal Agricultrual Officers all through the State at no profit and no loss basis. Similarly interest Dealers network can also be involved to sell these Bio-fertilizers across the State on no profit and not loss basis. Extension material may also be prepared and distributed along with fertilizer to the farmers both through the Mandal Agricultural Officers as well as Dealers. As far as the Marketing Department is concerned, they are requested to sell them through the Rythu Bazaars, to Farmers who ever come forward to supply without subsidy. To popularise the Bio-Fertilizer the above decisions are taken in the meeting.
It was also decided to set up two (2) liquid Bio-fertilizer plants at Anakapalli and Tirupati as part of next year's RKVY Programme. Department may plan it accordingly as part of the next year's RKVY Programme.
Secretary Marketing L. Premachandra Reddy, Commissioner Agriculture K. Madhusudana Rao, Commissioner Horticulture Usha Rani, Commissioner Marketing B. Kishore and others attended the meeting.
