Officials discuss plans to ease traffic congestion Hyderabad, April 1 (INN): The High Level Coordination Committee on Wednesday discussed measures to be adopted to ease out traffic congestion and ensure free flow of traffic from Mythrivanam to Nirankari Bhavan at Lakdika Pul.
The officials, who attended the meeting at GHMC Headquarters, were of the view that all hurdles on the road from Mythrivanam to Lakdikapul should be removed.
GHMC Commissioner & Special Officer Somesh Kumar, Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy, Additional CP (Traffic) Jithender, Hyderabad Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy and other senior officials participated in the meeting. The GHMC chief said that besides removing all hurdles, roads could be widened, wherever possible, from Mythrivanam to Lakdika Pul. Ramps can be constructed so as to avoid causing any damage to existing graveyards on the route.
The Coordination Committee has also decided to take up the multilevel parking complexes on the government open spaces available enroute from Mojamjahi Market to Nampally. Works on 760 meters stretch road of this corridor works would be taken up soon, the GHMC Commissioner said.
Somesh Kumar also informed that the GHMC is planning to take up 600 bus shelters and requested the TSRTC to identify the places so that the GHMC can take up the works on priority. He said there proposals to erect traffic lights at various junctions have been received from the concerned departments which are being considered.
