Civil Servants role has changed: IYR Hyderabad, April 21 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao said that the role of Civil Servants is now undergoing drastic changes.
The Chief Secretary, while addressing the seminar as Chief Guest organised at the Secretariat in connection with Civil Services Day, said that earlier the role of Civil Servants was limited to administration, Revenue Collection and Law and order and now they are acting as Managers than administrators and responsible for all the developmental programmes, Social Justice, Revenue generation and Law and Order etc.,
Former Additional Chief Secretary V Balasubramanian to Government of Karnataka, addressing as guest said that administrative would is more important to the Civil Servants and their goal should be Public Interest.
Prof. Haragopal, distinguished political scientist said that Shankaran, B.D. Sharma and Y.V. Reddy are role models for the Civil Servants in the administration who have worked for the welfare of poor and safe guarded the interest of the public. Poor people will remember their services for ever which give them satisfaction in the life.
Earlier Lingaraj Panigrahi, Special Chief Secretary to Govt. (GPM & AR) in the welcome address said that capacity building in second level of administration i.e. Asst. Secretary, Deputy Secretary etc. has to be strengthened in the Secretariat.
Dr. R.D. Ravindran, Chairman, Aravind Eye Care System, Dr. P.D.K. Rao, Chairman of Sodhana (NGO) in Cheepurupalli, Vizianagaram district and A Chakrapani, Director, Centre for Innovations in Public Systems and other dignitaries were participated in the programme.
