GHIA assures to provide temporary prayers' shed Following a representation made by Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, the GMR authorities have agreed to provide a temporary shed for the prayers of Muslim drivers, employees, passengers and visitors at the Shamshabad International Airport.
Shabbir Ali said he was in receipt of several representations from the drivers and employees seeking his help in asking the GMR authorities to erect a temporary shed at the airport for prayers, especially during Friday prayers. About 500-600 Muslim taxi drivers and other employees were forced to offer prayers under hot sun due to non-availability of shed. In view of the difficulties being faced by them, Shabbir Ali spoke to the higher authorities of GMR Hyderabad International Airport and convinced them that temporary shed should be erected for the Muslim drivers and employees at the airport.
Shabbir Ali has thanked the GMR authorities for accepting his request and agreeing to provide temporary shed for prayers.
