Dattatreyya assures Central help for farmers Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreyya on Sunday assured that the Central Government would extend all possible assistance to farmers who were hit by unseasonal rains and hailstorm in Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons after holding a meeting with the Central team led by Union Secretary of Agriculture Siraj Hussain here, Dattatreyya said that although the State Government did not send any report on damages, the Central Government has sent a team on its own to the State to assess the damages. He said he was trying to get Rs 132 crore relief from the Centre in the first phase. Meanwhile, he advised the State Government to spend Rs 265 crore which were released earlier.
Dattareyya said that the Central Teams have been visiting the areas affected with unseasonal rains on the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi
