Rs. 10.57 lakh realised during 'Fortress Check' The South Central Railway conducted a Fortress Check against ticketless and irregular travel at Secunderabad Railway Station.
The check, conducted on Saturday, was undertaken by 125 Ticket checking staff supplemented by Railway Protection Force (RPF) Personnel. Tickets of passengers were scrutinized to detect ticketless/irregular travel. During the Fortress Check, all the exit points at Secunderabad Railway station were plugged to prevent ticketless travellers escaping from the check. 36 Express trains, 6 Passenger trains and 22 MMTS trains were thoroughly checked at the station. As a safety measure, checks were also conducted to prevent carrying of inflammable articles in the passenger carrying trains.
A total of 1842 persons, comprising of 469 persons travelling without ticket, 1252 persons travelling irregularly and 61 cases of un-booked luggage were detected. A total of 60 persons were penalized for littering at SC Station and an amount of Rs. 12, 000/- was also realised during the Fortress Check. An amount of Rs. 10, 57, 180/- was realised towards penalty during the Fortress Check.
The check was held under the direct supervision of Ashesh Agrawal, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division while Ravi P. Padi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Assistant Commercial Manager, Ticket Checking, Secunderabad Division, were also present.
