GHMC to involve RWAs , SDFs to improve slums Hyderabad, April 28 (INN): GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar said that the corporation is planning to involve all the Residential Welfare Associations and Slum Development Federations to improve the slums in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
The Commissioner held a review meeting with all the Zonal Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners and desired to identify the Residential Welfare Associations in their jurisdiction duly involving them to take up the various developmental activities of various civic infrastructure works in their colonies so that the works can be taken in a phased manner to develop the city in a proper way.
Somesh Kumar directed the officials to identify the civic works that need to be taken up in different colonies and slums in coordination with the associations. He said that the residents, who are willing to join hands with the GHMC, should be identified. The GHMC will also deploy Quality Control Cell to check of the quality of the works for proper development of the works in that particular colony.
The Commissioner has also desired that Town Planning, Engineering and other various wings of GHMC must constitute a committee so that to take up various developmental works in the colonies basing on the proposals of the committee. He further stated that one committee at least must visit four colonies a day to put up the proposals for the development of the colony.
Engineering-in-Chief R Dhan Singh, Chief Engineer K Suresh Kumar, all Zonal Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, senior officials from Engineering, Town Planning have participated in the meeting.
