AP CS meets top officials in New Delhi Hyderabad, April 27 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, who was in Delhi for the Pratyush Sinha Committee meeting, reviewed the operation of transporting stranded Telugu people in Nepal. So far 27 people who have come from Nepal have been provided accommodation in AP Bhavan and provided flight tickets to go back to Andhra Pradesh.
Another five people are leaving today. Further for people coming from Kathmandu counter is opened at Delhi Airport to assist them to get back to their native places.
He took the opportunity and met some of the secretaries to pursue the pending projects, of the state of AP.
Krishna Rao met the Secretary Coordination in Cabinet Secretariat and requested for help in pushing the projects of Rail and Road connectivity between the existing ports and planned new ports in to the Central and Northern India.
He met Secretary Shipping Rajeev Kumar IAS, and discussed about development of port at Bhavanampadu, Duggirajapatnam, Ramayapatnam; connectivity from port to nearest railway lines besides hinter land connectivity.
He met Secretary Surface Transport and discussed with him the projects of connectivity from Anantapur and Kurnool to New Capital region by converting the state highway roads to national highways. He requested for expeditious land acquisition to expedite the projects which was promised from State Government side. The outer ring road in new capital region was discussed and it was promised to make land available free of encumbrances. The national highway connectivity for a port led growth in terms of connectivity through hinter lands of Central and North India connectivity, was also discussed and emphasized.
The Chief Secretary met Additional Secretary PMO and requested him to form a task force with the concerned Chief Secretaries and secretaries of Surface Transport and Shipping to take forward the issues of connectivity with ports, in a systematic manner on priority.
He met Secretary Defense Production with a request for setting up defense clusters with offer of land and external infrastructure from State government side at Orvakal near Kurnool, Hindupur in Anantapur, Donakonda in Prakasam and near Visakhapatnam. The possibilities of safeguarding the interests of Hindustan Ship yard are also discussed.
Krishna Rao also met A.K. Mittal, Chairman Railway Board emphasized completing all rail projects on priority including Nadikudi- Srikalahasti, doubling of Guntur-Guntakal line and promised to expedite all land acquisition issues and forest clearance issues from State Govt. side. The Dedicated Freight corridor issues and rail connectivity to Central and Northern India for freight movement was also discussed.
He met the Secretary Agriculture and requested him ensure the Agricultural university sanctioned under the state reorganization act is taken up as Central University.
