Rahul should apologise to farmers: Dattatreya Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreyya on Saturday asked AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to tender an unconditional apology with farmers for the injustices meted out to them during the previous UPA regimes.
Addressing a press conference at Dilkusha Guest House here, Dattatreyya blamed the previous UPA regime for the ongoing agrarian crisis in the country. He alleged that it was the Congress Government which pushed hundreds of farmers to suicide. Before launching a yatra for farmers, Rahul Gandhi should apologise for anti-farmers policies implemented by the previous regime.
Dattatreyya claimed that the Land Acquisition Bill of the BJP-led NDA Government would empower the farmers and appealed all the political parties to support the same. He said that the Congress party took away thousands of acres of agricultural land in the name of different project and is now trying to present the BJP Government in bad light. He also alleged that TRS Government was not serious about the welfare of farmers. "While hundreds of farmers are committing suicide, the TRS leaders are busy in their celebrations," he said.
