CM extends Press Freedom Day greetings Hyderabad, May 3: On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu extended greetings to all media persons and reflected on the need for quality journalism.
Given the fast-changing technological landscape we are in, the Chief Minister said, reporting has changed due to the advent of digital communication. 'This calls for self-introspection and reflection on part of media organizations. The need of the hour is objective and balanced reporting coupled with accountability,' he added.
Recalling the precarious situations journalists face on the job, the Chief Minister said that journalists put their lives at risk to get stories. 'You do the difficult work of telling some of the most harrowing stories on Earth. Your coverage can move the hands of presidents and prime ministers, and can call the world's attention to the most pressing humanitarian issues,' he added.
The Chief Minister added: 'Your stories can also put a state and a city on a global platform. And, I believe you will do that in highlighting the growth story of Sunrise Andhra Pradesh.'
