Heart Attack rumors on Star director Film director Mani Ratnam was hospitalized in Delhi Indraprastha Apollo Hospital late on Tuesday afternoon. Some reports say that the noted director was hospitalized on after complaining of chest pain and minor heart attack. He was taken to Apollo Hospital in Delhi.
But family sources confirmed that Mani Ratnam visited a private hospital for a master health checkup and contrary to the rumours, he was not hospitalized due to cardiac problems.
'He just joined for health check up.The family doesn't want information about his medical condition to be made public so we are not authorised to share any details,' said a hospital authority.
Ratnam was reportedly holidaying with his family in Srinagar. Ratnam is said to have a medical history of heart-related complications. The film director had survived a heart attack in 2004 when he was filming the multi-starrer bi-lingual 'Yuva'.
Mani Ratnam's recent hit 'Ok Bangaram' emerged as a super hit putting an end to his dull phase.The matured love story has been doing wonders at the box office and collected over Rs 14 crore in just four days of its release of April 15. In his career spanning over more than three decades, Mani Ratnam has helmed around 20 movies. Some of his best known films in Hindi include Bombay, Roja ,Dil Se,Guru and Yuva.
