OUJAC leaders calls on Governor Hyderabad, May 23 (INN): The Osmania University Students JAC leaders called on Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Saturday seeking his intervention to stop proposed move by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to acquire OU's land for weaker sections housing.
The OUJAC leaders were accompanied with Congress leaders Renuka Chowdhary, TPCC Chief Spokespersons D Sravan and spokesperson A Dayakar. The delegation comprised of OU JAC leaders including its president K Vijay Kumar, Chairman Charan Yadav, Sridhar Goud, Jagan, Saleem Pasha, Srikanth and others. Speaking to media persons later, they said they had urged the Governor to intervene into the matter as the Chancellor of Osmania University. They said that the previous governments could not prevent encroachments on OU's land and the present land was saved due to the erection of boundary wall. However, by proposing to acquire the land, the State Government is trying to create new problems for the university.
They said that the State Government could take up weaker section housing by removing encroachments on government lands.
