TS Govt to unveil new industrial policy Hyderabad, May 25 (INN): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will unveil the new industrial policy of Telangana State on June 7.
The new industrial policy will be announced in the presence of eminent industrialists from across the country and heads of several multi-national companies.
The Chief Minister held a review meeting at the State Secretariat on Monday to give final touches to the new industrial policy. Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and senior officials of different departments were present in the meeting. Industries Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, TS GENCO Chairman Prabhakar Rao and other officials were also present. Addressing the review meeting, KCR hoped that the industrial policy, which was drafted in consultation with several experts, would be the best in the country. He said the policies of different countries and States in India were thoroughly studied and best practices were incorporated in Telangana's industrial policy.
KCR said that the policy would enable an investor to set up an industry within 15 days. The State Government would take full responsibility of providing land, water, power and other amenities to the investors. He said so far, the State Government has provided nearly 160,000 acres of land to Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation so as to make this land available to the industry. He said steps would be taken to prevent the misuse of land for the purposes other than for which it was allotted.
The Chief Minister claimed that there was no scarcity of water. As much as 10% of irrigation water would be reserved for use for industrial purposes. Further, by 2017, nearly 7,000 MW of additional power would be available with the Telangana Government.
