Hyderabad HC rejects petition on Section 8 Hyderabad, June 29 (INN): The Hyderabad High Court on Monday dismissed a petition seeking implementation of Section 8 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act in Hyderabad.
Responding to the petition filed by Andhra Association of Telangana President K Veera Raghava Reddy, the High Court refused to intervene on the issue. The petitioner had urged the court to direct the Central Government to ask the Governor to implement Section 8 of the APRA on Law and Order in Hyderabad and claimed that people hailing from Seemandhra regions and living in Hyderabad were not feeling safe ever since the formation of Telangana on June 2 last year. However, the court said it could not intervene on the issue as the Act does not say that Governor would not implement Section 8 on the directions of the Centre.
The High Court also rejected a similar petition filed by an advocate.
