SCR bids adieu to General Manager Srivastava Hyderabad, June 30 (INN): Pradeep Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR, who superannuated from service on Tuesday, after serving Indian Railways for 36 years was accorded a very touching and emotional farewell by the Staff and Officers of SCR today.
At a farewell function held today by the General Administration Branch of the Zone in honour of Srivastava at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad, speakers extolled the virtues and qualities of the General Manager and expressed their feeling of an emotional attachment towards him. Umesh Singh, Additional General Manager dwelt on the humanitarian side of Srivastava and said that the knowledge and managerial skill of the GM was unmatched and very rare to find in a person. Gajanan Mallya, Sr. Deputy General Manager, SCR shared his feelings of the personality that Srivastava espoused.
M.Umashankar Kumar, Chief Public Relations Officer who conducted the meeting dwelt from the scriptures to highlight the qualities of P.K.Srivastava. Every speaker shared one common opinion that Srivastava reached out to each and every Railway personnel irrespective of their status and in turn trusted them for delivering goods. This was the reason that SCR could rise from 7th Position on Indian Railways to occupy the top slot in the last financial year in terms of incremental loading and earnings. The Zone had touched a record highest ever freight loading of 116.81 million tonnes in 2014-15.
Amongst those who spoke were Srikanth Reddi, Secretary to General Manager; Vishwanath Erya, Dy.CVO (Engg); Neelakanta Reddy, DGM (G); A.K.Singh, Secy (PG); Shakeel Ahmed, PRO.
Later in the evening, the entire SCR headquarters staff bid Srivastava good bye by taking him in a colourfully decorated open top Jeep from Rail Nilayam, the jeep was pulled by Officers / Staff and led by RPF band as a mark of respect to the retiring General Manager.
P.K.Srivastava, took charge as General Manager, SCR on 20th November, 2013 and served in the capacity for about 1year and 8 months.
