AP Govt aims to enhance productivity Hyderabad, July 3 (INN): The Government of Andhra Pradesh has taken a decision to enhance productivity levels, increase income of the farmers and targeted to achieve double digit growth in Agriculture for the financial year 2015-16, Chief Secretary I.Y.R.Krishna Rao emphasized.
The Chief Secretary held a meeting today with the Officers of Planning, Agriculture, Finance Departments to review on the progress of Agriculture Department for its double digit growth.
Officers concerned have briefed about the action plan prepared for 'agriculture practices for every crop' at Mandal level. A group of Agriculture Officers will move to the field in all the panchayats to monitor implementation of the schemes in primary sector on quarterly basis and prepare checklist on key performance indicators. The Government will also intervene on the critical conditions facing by the farmers in the agriculture field through video conference by interacting them with Scientists to clarify the doubts of the farmers. Also there is a need to renew crop loans and sanctioning of new crop loans to the farmers, Officers opined.
The Chief Secretary said that the Government have been making outstanding contribution with commitment for welfare of the farmers in the field of Agriculture and to get double digit growth in the primary sector.
Spl. Chief Secretary Planning S.P. Tucker, Spl. Chief Secretary Agriculture Dr. Vijaya Kumar, Prl. Secretary to CM Satish Chandra, Prl. Finance Secretary Dr. P.V. Ramesh and others attended the meeting.
