MLAs to supervise Iftar, clothes distribution Hyderabad, July 7 (INN): Arrangements are in full swing for the conduct of Iftar parties and distribution of clothes among poor Muslims across the State on July 12.
ACB Director General AK Khan, who heads the Task Force on Ramzan Celebrations, on Tuesday held a meeting to review the arrangements. Minorities Welfare Department Director MJ Akbar, Haj Committee Special Officer Prof. S.A.Shukoor, Wakf Board CEO Md Asadullah and other senior officials attended the meeting. The incharges of several mosque committees also participated in the meeting.
Speaking to media persons later, AK Khan informed that the tenders for purchase of clothes for poor Muslims would be finalised by Wednesday. He said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao wants the clothes to be distributed by Shab-e-Qadr, falling on July 15. He also informed that the local MLAs have been assigned the responsibility for conducting Iftar parties and distribution of clothes in their areas in GHMC limits.
