RTC to operate 2270 buses for Pushkarams Hyderabad, July 7 (INN): The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation will operate 2,270 buses and transport more than 25 lakh pilgrims during the Godavari Pushkarams, to be celebrated from 14th to 25th July.
The major Pushakar Ghats are Basar in Adilabad, Dharampuri and Kaleshwaram in Karimnagar and Bhadrachalam in Khammam districts. There are 41 other minor ghats. The RTC will operate 310 buses in Adilabad, 300 in Nizamabad, 415 in Karimangar, 355 in Warangal, 360 in Khamma and 530 buses in Hyderabad city and Hyderabad Zone. Of them, 650 buses will be operated on Hyderabad- Basara route.
All special buses to Basara and Pochampad will start and terminate at Jubilee Bus sTand. Besides JBS, there will be pick-up points at ECIL X Roads, Cherlapalli, Risala Bazar, Regimental Bazar, Patancheru, KPHB Colony, Kukatpally Bus Station, Jeedimetla, Uppal X Roads, Dilsukhnagar and Ramanthapur. Facilities like drinking water, toilets, canteens, public address system and enquiry, crew rest room, Queue railings, adequate lighting are being provided at temporary bus stations. The cloak room facility will be provided at four major ghats. An amount of Rs. 1.27 crore has been provided for 23 temporary bus stations at ghats to provide passenger amenities.
