SRDP first phase tenders within three days GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar said that the tender for first phase of Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) would be called within two-three days and the works would be started in a span of two-and-a-half months.
The SRDP project is being taken up as per the vision of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to make Hyderabad a World Class City, Somesh Kumar said. In the first phase, the GHMC has planned to take up 20 corridors, flyovers and junctions at a cost of Rs. 2,631 crores.
Somesh Kumar said that first phase works would be taken up under Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) system and the tenderers who are finalized would get the payments in 20 installments. The works will be started only after acquisition of the properties and will be completed in a time bound manner.
The Commissioner said that the GHMC aims to complete the works in next 30 months. The works will be taken up keeping in view the importance of the environment with rules, regulations and planning to have a pollution free city. After completion of the project, the GHMC will improve the revenue resources.
Meanwhile, Somesh Kumar, along with senior officials of the various government heads of the departments, held an inspection from the BHEL, Allwyn, Kothaguda, Gachibowli, Khajaguda, Biodiversity, Nanalnagar, Rethibowli, Masab Tank and SFCL Junctions.
GHMC Special Commissioner Navin Mittal, Engineer-in-Chief R. Dhan Singh, Chief City Planner S Devender Reddy, Chief Engineer Suresh and senior officials from Town Planning and Engineering have participated in the visit.
