AP CS reviews 'Swachh Bharat' works Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao reviewed the progress of the construction of household toilets in the State under the Swachh Bharat Mission, with the concerned officers.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh targeted to provide toilet facility in every household by eradicating open defecation. Construction Cost per unit is Rs.15,000/-; Rs.6000/- is State share and Rs.9000/- Government of India share.
The Chief Secretary directed the officials after reviewing the situation, to co-ordinate with the District Officers in all the Districts, those who are lagging in toilet construction and also suggested give a wide publicity involving the Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) on construction of household toilets to create awareness on health grounds.
Prl. Finance Secretary Dr. P.V. Ramesh, Secretary Panchayat Raj Jawahar Reddy, Commissioner Panchayat Raj B. Ramanjaneyulu and others attended the meeting.
