Drunken driving will lead to license cancellation Hyderabad, Aug 2 (INN): Telangana Transport Minister M Mahender Reddy has announced that the State Government was planning to cancel the driving licenses of those driving their vehicles in drunken condition.
Speaking at an event held at Necklace Road on Sunday, the minister spoke about the ill-effects of drunken driving. Stating that several lives were being lost due to drunken driving, he appealed to the people not to drive their vehicles after consuming liquor. He said that the State Government has launched a massive awareness campaign in this regard.
The minister also spoke about the steps being taken to ensure security of women. He praised the police officials for successful implementation of SHE TEAMS which reduced the cases of eve-teasing.
Transport Secretary Sunil Sharma, Transport Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Santania, Joint Transport Commissioner Venkateshwarulu and Raghunath and senior police officials were also present in the event.
