HRC visits Gandhi Hospital, pulls up staff for lapses Hyderabad, Aug 14 (INN): A five-member team of State Human Rights Commission, led by its chairman Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakru, conducted a surprise visit of Gandhi Hospital here on Friday.
The Commission inspected the facilities at Out-Patient Department, Jeevan Dan Pharmacy and Laboratory and Pharmacy being operated by the hospital management. It also inspected the sanitation and cleanliness in the hospital premises.
According to sources, the HRC members pulled up staff for the deficiencies in their services, especially for the delay and methodology of giving reports for different tests. They directed the hospital management to ensure that the diagnostic and other reports of patients were not delayed. One woman from Boduppal approached the HRC members and complained that the report of her tests was not handed over even after one week. Reacting to this, the chairman rebuked the staff and asked how many times a poor woman is expected to visit the lab to get her reports.
The HRC members also expressed dissatisfaction over the sanitation in the hospital.
The HRC Chairman directed the Secretary and North Zone DCP to submit reports on the findings of the visit.
