Former minister and YSR follower joins TDP Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh has received another blow. Former minister and prominent SC leader from Guntur district, Dokka Manikya Varaprasada Rao quits the party and joined the ruling TDP.
Dokka quit Congress and joined TDP today in the presence of AP Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. Narsaraopet MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, MLA Anjneyulu and other TDP leaders were also present on the occasion.
Varaprasad was staunch follower of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and he served as minister earlier. Manikya Vara Prasad won as MLA in 2004 elections. He won his first election in Tadikonda. From 2009 to 2011 worked as secondary educational minister
Sambasiva Rao has played a major role and he made efforts to bring Manikya Varaprasad into TDP fold.In fact, Dokka had initially made preparations to join the YSRC. However, he had a change of mind as his guru and TDP MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao had advised him not to board YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's ship.
