Jagan to undertake fast for Special Status Hyderabad, Sept 1 (INN): YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday announced that he would go on an indefinite hunger fast if the Central Government fails to grant Special Status to Andhra Pradesh by September 15.
Speaking to media persons here, Jagan said that the YSRCP would not stop its agitation till it achieves Special Status tag for Andhra Pradesh. He stressed the need for unity among political parties and other groups to pressurise the Centre over the issue. He said the TDP Government too should be pressurised on the issue. He demanded that Chief Minister and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu pull out of BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre by making his party's union ministers resign from their posts.
Jagan accused Naidu of not taking a firm stand on the issue of Special Status only to save himself from action in 'Cash for Vote' scam.
