GHMC to handle RTC operations in Hyderabad Hyderabad, Sept 2 (INN): The Telangana Cabinet on Wednesday decided to handover the responsibility of Road Transport Corporation in Hyderabad to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
Briefing the media persons after cabinet meeting at the State Secretariat here, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao said that the RTC has been incurring losses of Rs. 218 crore. However, from now on, the RTC's losses due to its operations in Hyderabad would be compensated by the GHMC. The RTC operates 3,800 buses in the city.
The Chief Minister said that the GHMC Commissioner would also be inducted as Member/Director of State Road Transport Corporation.
