Rajiv Sharma meets Railway Board chief Hyderabad, Sept 4 (INN): Making use of the visit of Railway Board Chairman A.K. Mital to Hyderabad, Telangana Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma had a meeting with him on Friday and discussed the developmental plans of Telangana State and the support required from railways for infrastructure development in the State.
Positively responding to the request made by Dr. Rajiv Sharma, Mital assured that the Indian Railways would extend full support in strengthening and expanding the railway network, especially providing additional facilities for rail movement of coal etc., for the new mega power plants which are being set up in Telangana. Similarly appreciating the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project, Mital assured HMR MD NVS Reddy that railways would facilitate speedy execution of the eight Metro Rail Over Bridges (RoBs) where Metro Rail viaduct crosses the railway tracks, by providing the necessary block periods etc., i.e., stoppage of trains for a few hours during night time on some days, to allow Metro viaduct works over the railway tracks.
General Manager in-charge South Central Railway P.K. Saxena and other senior officers of the Railway Board were also present in meeting.
