Congress to launch agitation against attack Hyderabad, Sept 5 (INN): Strongly condemning the attack on Makhtal Makthal Congress MLA Chittem Rammohan Reddy, Telangan Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has announced that his party would launch a massive agitation against the ruling party TRS.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting of Congress Legislature Party here on Saturday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that TRS Atchampet legislator Guvvala Balaraju slapped Rammohan Reddy in full public view due to arrogance of power. He said a similar attaced was carried out earlier on senior MLA G. Chinna Reddy. He alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has been using MLAs belonging to Scheduled Castes to execute such attacks. This is being done to misuse SC, ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act against the opposition party leaders if they oppose their attacks. He said these attacks were part of a larger conspiracy.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that such attacks were not good for the democracy. He asked KCR not to test patience of Congress leaders.
Meanwhile, the Congress leaders including Leaders of Opposition K. Jana Reddy and Mohammed Ali Shabbir, TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Rajya Sabha MP V. Hanumantha Rao and others participated in the CLP meeting. Later, they submitted a memorandum to Governor ESL Narasimhan against the attack.
