Dy CM promises to regularise contract teachers Hyderabad, Sept 5 (INN): Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Saturday assured that the services of contract teachers would regularised through roster system.
Addressing the Teachers Day celebrations at Ravindra Bharathi here, the Deputy CM said that the teachers play an important role in transformation of society and therefore, the State Government was making required changes in the entire education system to help them. He said efforts were on to link the education with jobs.
Kadiyam also assured that the KG to PG free education scheme would be launched from the next academic year and one school, in English medium and with CBSE syllabus, will be started in each Assembly segment on experimentation basis. Later, the system would be replicated at mandal level.
The Deputy CM said that 8,000 teachers' posts would be filled through DSC after the completion of process of transfers and rationalisation. He said nearly 8,000 Vidya Volunteers were being appointed this year to bridge the gap and this would begin from September 21.
Kadiyam said that the education sector in Telangana was neglected by the previous regimes. He said Cheif Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao would soon conduct a meeting with experts, academicians and related persons to discuss the reforms to be brought in the education sector in Telangana. He said so far 1190 Gurukul Schools have been established to provide quality education from 5th Class to Intermediate.
Kadiyam also assured that the posts of Vice-Chancellors of all Universities would be filled in the next three months.
Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Energy Minister C. Lakshma Reddy and others also addressed the meeting.
