Jana Reddy appeals for success of Bandh Hyderabad, Oct 9 (INN): Leader of Opposition in Assembly K. Jana Reddy has appealed to all sections of the society to participate in the Telangana Bandh on Saturday to express solidarity with farmers who are in distress.
Speaking to media persons in Khammam on Friday, Jana Reddy said that the non-implementation of crop loan waiver promise was the major reason that drove hundreds of farmers to suicide. Therefore, in order to prevent further suicides, State Government must waive off crop loan dues at one go instead of installments, he said adding that the Congress party would continue protest till promised amount is waived off.
Jana Reddy asked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to explain as to why he did not clarify his government's stand on farmers' suicides. He said KCR has set a bad precedent by suspending entire opposition and winding up Assembly session three days earlier instead of discussing public issues.
