Now you can donate blood at your house Hyderabad, Nov 23 (INN): Rotary District 3150 will press into service two blood collection vans and Dialysis Service Centre at a cost of Rs. 3 Crore, disclosed Gopinath Reddy, District Governor of Rotary District 3150 and Viiveck Verma, President of Rotary Club of Miyapur here on Monday.
The two blood collections vans will go to the doorsteps of their homes or offices to collect blood. "Though people want to donate blood, they don't have time. To address this issue we are going to introduce two blood collection vehicles on pilot project basis in the city. The vehicles go into premises and will be parked in parking areas. People can come at leisure and donate blood. Thus we are giving opportunity to those who are sincere in donating blood," Gopinath Reddy said.
"We have already raised the necessary funding of US $ 50,000 through Rotary Foundation and through our international charity partners," informed Gopinath Reddy adding that this concept would be extended to 12 other revenues districts where Rotary Club has its presence.
Rotary District 3150 is also planning to set up a Free Dialysis unit at a grant of 3,30,000 US $ which is in the process of raising.
