The same was happening for e-commerce giant snapdeal. The controversy surrounding actor Aamir Khan's comments on 'intolerance' now proved as headache for snapdeal. Its known that Aamir was roped in as the brand ambassador for the online shopping service in March this year. Snapdeal which is endorsed by Aamir Khan is facing the wrath of people's anger.
As a mark of protest against Amir's commebts Consumers have started uninstalling SnapDeal app off their smartphones. Many among them taken their protest to Google Play and they are giving the Snapdeal app a 1-star rating and demanding that Aamir be removed as the brand ambassador.
Meanwhile, a number of Twitter users are tweeting with the hashtag - #AppWapsi - threatening to uninstall the Snapdeal app unless the company disassociates itself with the actor.Those actively participating in this campaign also posted screenshots of them deleting the Snapdeal app from their cell phones
As the trend was becoming worse the company was forced to make a statement. Snapdeal released a statement to the media that says, "Snapdeal is neither connected nor plays a role in comments made by Aamir Khan in his personal capacity.''
