The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) was heading for a huge win in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections as early results and trends indicated on Friday.The party is on its way to get more than 100 seats.Congress party faced the shame after its mayor candidate Vikram Goud and ex-mayor Banda Karthika Reddy were defeated.
Congress candidate from Tarnaka division and former mayor Banda Karthika Reddy is one of the key Congress candidates to lose in the GHMC polls. TRS candidate Aalakunta Saraswathi won over Banda Kartika Reddy.Congress won only Patancheru division. Banda Karthika reddy became first female mayor of the city of Hyderabad in 2009 after formation of Greater Hyderabad.
Meanwhile TRS camp has started celebrations and party cadres distributing sweets and bursting firecrackers celebrating the party's victory.
