KCR directs officials to improve quality of education Hyderabad, Feb 9 (INN): Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday directed the officials to bring all courses, except medicine, pharma and agriculture, under the purview of Education Department.
The decision was taken during a review meeting on education held by the Chief Minister with ministers and senior officials.
The Chief Minister said all educational institutions being run by SC, ST Welfare Departments should be brought under the Education Department so as to improve the quality of education. He asked Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari and Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma to bring all educational institutions and courses under one roof and streamline their functioning. He also asked them to frame a new Education Policy.

He said without improving the standard, the pass outs of those institutions could not be expected to get good jobs in the open market. He said that the parent departments would release the required funds while the Education Department would run those institutions.
KCR said besides TSPSC and UPSC, Telangana youth should be motivated and trained to appear for recruitment drives of Railways, Defence, Banking and other sectors. He said special training should be imparted to youth for competitive examinations. He said proper guidance should also be provided to youth in getting IT jobs. He also stressed on having a unique policy for Model Schools.
