Cyberabad Police goes for reorganisation Hyderabad, Feb 14 (INN): The Cyberabad Police Commissionerate has decided to reorganise its entire force to overcome the shortage of staff.
The Cyberabad Police Commissionerate is spread over 3700 Sq.Kms all around Hyderabad City. Its population is about 65 lakhs. The IT Corridor and increased economic activity are all taking place in Cyberabad limits. Out of a sanctioned strength of 7200 there are only 5200 police personnel presently available leading to a very adverse Police: Public ratio of 1: 1250.
"Since, any vacancy filling up exercise is going to take at least another one-and-a-half years, it is decided to reorganise and revamp the existing strength in a manner to meet the present and emerging policing requirements," Cyberabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand said on Sunday.
Therefore, the Cyberabad Police have decided to close down the 5 Zonal Task forces (ZTFs) with 5 Law&Order DCPs. 75 AR and civil PCs were posted in these teams to help the DCPs to control organised crime. But the results were not commensurate. Two additional platoons of CAR are being formed from the 42 AR men released and the Police Stations are being strengthened by release of 33 civil constables.
There will be one SOT team for every Zone from now on i.e., SOTs Madhapur, Balanagar, Malkajgiri, LB Nagar and Shamshabad. Each SOT team will be headed by 1 inspector and have strength of 1 SI, 1 ASI, 1 HC , 10 PCs, 1 WPC, 2 Male HGs, 2 WHGs + equipment of 1 Eicher Bus, riot gear weapons, weapons etc.,
The job chart of the 5 SOTs will be control of Organized Crimes like Drug, Arms and Women Trafficking; The activities of Rowdy Elements; Movement of Criminal Gangs, Land Mafias Et Drug Mafias; High Level Prostitution; Illegal Activities of Gambling Clubs, Resorts, Pubs etc.,; Any other important cases entrusted by Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad like PDS diversion, fake credit cards etc., and they will also be used for Bundobust duties upon requisition by DCsP and orders of C.P, Cyberabad.
There are presently 7 CCS Police Stations functioning in Cyberabad. It is decided to close down CCS Alwal and CCS Vanasthalipuram and have 5 CCSs - one for each zone called CCS Madhapur, CCS Balanagar, CCS Malkajgiri, CCS LB Nagar and CCS Shamshabad. The Present strength of 175 in the CCS is being reorganised into these 5 CCS Police Stations in proportion to the occurrence of property crime in that Zone.
The workloads of Police Stations in Cyberabad vary from 1700 FIRs in LB Nagar Police Station to 225 FIRs in Manchal Police Station. Therefore, the strength of each Police Station is being re-organised based on three criteria a) Total FIRs registered. b) Total Property Crime reported and L&O and other Bundobust duties. This will be done after allotting Force for basic common duties like reception, court, e-COPS and IT Patrols, Interceptors, Blue Colts, Investigation, Admin etc., in each Police Station.
With the increased loads of VIP and anti sabotage duties, the reorganization / revamping of CAR and Security wing including the Dog Squad (no of dogs are being increased from 11 to 24) is being done. A mounted police unit for Cyberabad is also being started.
