Speed up projects; Adhere to targets: SCR GM Hyderabad, May 24 (INN): South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta on Tuesday critically reviewed the progress of all ongoing newline, doubling and electrification projects over the zone at a high level meeting attended by Principal Heads of the Department, Heads of Construction organization and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad.
The review meeting also involved video conferencing with the Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and Nanded Divisions.
The General Manager critically reviewed the progress of all ongoing projects on SCR and stressed upon the need to complete the targeted works as per schedule. He undertook a detailed review of the Nandyal ' Yerraguntla, Peddapalli- Nizamabad, Munirabad-Mahabubnagar, Bidar-Gulbarga, Raghavapuram-Peddampet & Mancherial-Mandamarri patch tripling, Kazipet ' Vijayawada third line and Parbhani ' Mudkhed doubling works. He emphasized the need to complete all last mile projects which will strengthen infrastructure and help in capacity augmentation.
Ravindra Gupta was briefed on the RVNL works in progress on SCR's network, which include MMTS Phase-II, Vijayawada-Guntur-Amaravati new line, Secunderabad-Mahbubnagar doubling, Guntur-Tenali doubling with Electrification, Vijayawada-Bhimavaram doubling with Electrification, Vijayawada-Gudur third line, Guntakal-Kalluru electrification, Wadi ' Raichur ' Guntakal electrification, Kazipet workshop and Rail Bogie Karkhana at Yadgir etc. General Manager assessed the actual status of the ongoing works and the plans formulated by RVNL for completion. Issues needing attention and cooperation from the respective State Governments and the Railways were also discussed in detail.
On MMTS Phase-II project, Ravindra Gupta was informed that works are fast in progress and proceeding ahead in all the five stretches simultaneously and engine rolling will be done for 44 kms of new line by March, 2017. All the major bridges of the MMTS Phase-II project area have been completed and 86% of the earth work is also completed.
