Congress hold protest against hikes in fares Hyderabad, June 25 (INN): Hundreds of Congress workers held demonstrations across the Telangana State on Saturday in protest against the hike in RTC fares and power tariff.
In Hyderabad, Congress workers staged protests at Nampally crossroads and Vidhyuth Soudha at Khairtabad. The protest threw traffic out of gear on the entire Nampally-Panjagutta stretch.
Senior leaders including former Union Minister Sarve Satyanarayana, ex-MP M. Anjan Kumar Yadav, ex-PCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah, former minister P. Sabitha Indira Reddy, Sudhir Reddy, Seelam Goud, G. Venkata Ramana and several other workers were arrested by the police for causing traffic obstructions. Senior leaders including GHCC Minorities Department chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail and others also burn the effigy of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and accused him to burdening the common by way of increase bus fares and power tariff.
