VHR demands separate Governor for TS Hyderabad, Sept 26 (INN): Congress senior leader and former MP V. Hanumantha Rao on Monday demanded that the Centre appoint a separate Governor for Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly here, VHR alleged that E.S.L. Narasimhan was not doing his job properly as the Governor of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He said that the Governor was equally praising the governments of both the States for personal gains. He said that the Governor was simply neglecting the problems being faced by the people in both the States and just praising the Chief Ministers.
VHR also slammed the Governor for getting a Gujarat IPS officer transferred as punishment for having an argument with him at a function in National Police Academy. He alleged that the Governor acted with vengeance.
Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks on Muslims, he said Modi has developed a soft corner for Muslims in view of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. He said Modi should first apologise to Muslims for Gujarat before trying to get closer to the community.
