Jupally directs officials to repair damaged roads Hyderabad, Sept 29 (INN): Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao has directed the officials to take up repair and restoration of roads and buildings which got damaged due to recent rains across the State.
Jupally held a high-level review meeting at the State Secretariat on Thursday to assess the damages caused to Panchayat Raj roads and buildings due to heavy rains and floods. Of 17,000 km of Panchayat Roads, a stretch of 1,524 km got damage. As against the requirement of Rs. 318.58 crore for complete restoration, the minister said Rs. 49.61 crore would be released on immediate basis. Similarly, Rs. 3.45 crore will be needed to repair 73 buildings which got damaged.
The damaged roads include 402 km in Medak, 358 km in Nalgonda, 225 km in Ranga Reddy, 192 km in Mahabubnagar, 53 km in Adilabad, 29 km in Karimnagar, 91 km each in Warangal and Khammam and 83 km in Nizamabad district.
The minister asked the officials to take up repair of damaged roads on war footing basis.
