YSRCP team visits Mid Maniar Dam Karimnagar, Sept 29 (INN): A team of YSR Congress Party leaders led by its Telangana unit chief Gattu Srikanth Reddy on Thursday visited the Mid Manair Dam site that breached recently due to incessant rains.
Speaking to media persons, Srikanth Reddy held the State Government responsible for the dam breach. He said that it was due to the efforts of former Chief Minister late Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy that the state was now having good irrigation resources. YSR's Jalayagnam scheme is now providing its fruits, he claimed.
The YSRCP leader demanded the state government to the farmers who lost the crops at the earliest. The TRS government should pay an ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 per acre to the farmers in the state, the YSRC leader said.
Srikanth Reddy also demanded the government to declare Manwada as submerged village and urged the government to pay compensation as demanded by the local farmers. He warned that the party would take up fast-onto-death stir at Mid Manair Dam site if the compensation is not paid to the farmers.
YSRCP leaders Konda Raghava Reddy, Shiva Kumar, B Srinivas Rao and others were present.
