Jagan backs Polavarm oustees demand East Godavari, Dec 7 (INN): YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday alleged that the Chandrababu government had violated the rights of the Tribals by forcefully taking away their lands to construct Polavaram project.
Speaking at a gathering of Polavaram oustees in East Godavari's Rampachodavaram town, the YSRC chief assured the tribals that he would mount pressure on the state government to provide the project oustees their compensation. He said that the Polavaram project was an important project for the state, but added that the government should ensure enough compensation to the project oustees. The government cannot forcibly take away tribal lands, he added.
Alleging that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was indifferent towards farmers, the YSRC chief said that even after completion of half of his term in office Chandrababu failed to provide any relief toward Polavaram project oustees.
