News: Headline News | AP Team working hard at WEF Davos, Jan 23: Andhra Pradesh lounge set up at World Economic Forum turned as a centre of attraction for global delegates with the display of innovative methods and technology being used for development of the state. Anil Sardana, MD and CEO of Adani Transmission said that they would develop district cooling system and connect smart city in Amaravati.
Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh attended the WEF conference along with team of officials. The delegation include Special chief secretary of medical and health Poonam Malakondaiah, special secretry of agriculture B Rajasekhar, Advisor to Govt on agriculture T Vijaykumar, AP Economic Development Board CEO Jasti Krishna Kishore, APIIC MD Ahmed Babu , secretary I&PR B Ramanjaneyulu and advisor to govt on health Dr Jitender Sharma.
On the first day of the conference Minister Nara Lokesh is seen busy in interacting with CEOs of various world business groups.
Adani Group: The minister interacted with Anil Sardana, MD and CEO of Adani group and discussed on early completion of the data centre and solar project in AP. Anil Sardana appreciated the pro active and logical support that was facilitated by Govt of Andhra Pradesh under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Anil Sardana said they chose AP despite of pressures from Maharastra to set up Adani group. He expressed interest to work with Amaravati.
Interaction with WEF Agile Governance Team: Later the minister Nara Lokesh interacted with WEF Agile Governance Team and discussed on interlinking and upgrading of technology to improve services to people.
Speaking on the occasion the minister stressed the need for upgrading technology to improve govt services. He said various issues of people should be solved using technology. He said the Andhra Pradesh Govt has been extending people friendly services through real time governance. He said the state govt has been extending services including soil testing, water levels in reservoirs, ground water levels and weather forecasting using real time governance. He said a call centre was set up in real time governance to register and resolve the grievances of people in real time.
The minister said the Andhra Pradesh govt has been degitalising the land records and using block chain technology to prevent tampering of land records. With the cooperation of Milinda Gates foundation soil testing programme is being organised using drones. He said the CM core dash board will provide information of various departments in real time. He said the state govt has been making efforts to simply the distribution of certificates through e-Pragati.
Later the IT minister interacted with Wipro Ltd strategy officer and NASCOM executive council chairman Rishad Premji and discussed on innovation and changing technologies. The minister said skill development programme play key role in providing employment opportunities to youth. He said a platform would be developed with the cooperation of NASCOM for promoting future skills. Speaking on the occasion Rishad Premji said the Wipro group has been concentrating on development of technology in AP and special concentration would be laid on Fintech, Blockchairn, Big data. He said Atal Tinkering labs and hackathons are being organised in AP to promote innovative ideas among students.
Minister Nara Lokesh said that Yuva Nestam programme was launched to help unemployed youth by paying Rs 1000 per month besides providing skill development trainings. He said number of employment opportunities were provided in the state by introducing AP Fiber grid. The minister said that the DX and First American companies are implementing a pilot project of work from home to improve employment opportunities. He sought further expansion of Wipro services in Visakhapatnam. He said the NASCOM should come forward to promote medical electronics centre of excellance. Rishad Premji assured cooperation for development of Andhra Pradesh by expansion of their services. He said a decision would be taken soon to set up medical electronics centre of excellence in AP.
Interaction with Deloitte group: Minister for IT Nara Lokesh interacted with Deloitee global chairman David J o Cruickshank. The minister said that Andhra Pradesh has been marching forward despite of state bifurcation issues and planning to emerge number one in the country by 2029. He said AP achieved 12 per cent growth. He said AP has been implementing paperless govt policy. Files are being cleared through e-Governance. He said the state govt has been providing TV, internet and phone facility to each house through AP Fiber grid with a minimum charge of Rs 149 per month. He said Visakhapatnam is going to emerge as IT hub and Rayalaseema as manufacturing hub. Several electronic companies set up their units in Chittoor district. World biggest solar park is getting ready in Kurnool district. He said AP emerged as first state in India in linking of rivers.
Country strategy dialogue on India: Later the Minister for IT Nara Lokesh participated in World Economic forum session on Country strategy dialogue on India.
The session discussed on industrial development, reforms, employment generation for youth.
Speaking on the occasion, the IT minister said that double digit growth would be possible in India through Ease of doing business and providing employment to youth. He stressed the need for more reforms to increase growth rate of the country. He opined that the corporate taxes should be reduced and special tax system should be implemented for MSMEs. He said special subsidies should be provided for research and development, innovation. He opined that judicial reforms are necessary for introducing reforms in lands and industries and changes should be made in labour laws to promote industrial development. The minister said AP stands in Number one position in Ease of Doing business. He said the state achieved record growth rate in Agriculture sector using technology.
